Where Alafiora Practices
Most practices offer one format. Alafiora offers whichever serves the work, virtually, on location, or at home within licensed states.
How sessions are delivered
The care travels. The standards do not.
Most practices determine how care is delivered before they know who they are delivering it to. At Alafiora, how and where sessions are held is both a clinical decision and a matter of client autonomy. Some clients do their most effective work from the privacy of their own home, with their clinician having traveled to be there. Others need the containment of a neutral space, or the particular freedom that distance provides in a virtual session. The format is not a fixed feature of this practice. It is a choice made around each client, within licensed states, with the same standard of care held regardless of where the session takes place.
Virtual Sessions
Available to all clients residing in New Mexico and Indiana. Sessions are conducted through HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms operating under signed Business Associate Agreements. No diagnosis is shared with any insurer. No record is accessible to any third party without explicit written consent. The standard of care delivered remotely is identical to what is held in person.
On-Location Sessions
Dr. Lapite-Garrett travels to clients within licensed states. On-location care is available throughout New Mexico and Indiana for clients who prefer, or clinically benefit from, a familiar environment. This may include a private home, a confidential suite, or another setting determined collaboratively with the client. Travel fees apply and are discussed transparently during the consultation process.
At-Home Sessions
For clients whose nervous system, safety concerns, or physical circumstances make external travel effortful, at-home sessions bring the full depth of the clinical work into the client's own space. This format is particularly well-suited to clients managing trauma-related hypervigilance, persistent avoidance, or grief that makes sustained public presence difficult to sustain. Travel fees apply and are outlined on the Rates page.
All session formats are held to the same clinical and ethical standard regardless of delivery mode. Session fees are consistent across virtual and on-location care. Travel fees for on-location and at-home sessions are separate from the session fee and are detailed on the Rates & Policies page. HSA and FSA cards are accepted as a form of payment.

New Mexico
Dr. Lapite-Garrett is licensed as a psychologist to provide psychotherapy and psychological care in the state of New Mexico, authorized to see clients residing in or currently present within New Mexico's borders. New Mexico clients may access care virtually from anywhere in the state or through on-location and at-home sessions in communities throughout the region.
New Mexico carries layered histories of systemic disruption, cultural complexity, and quiet resilience. Clients here who have navigated sexual trauma, persistent relational patterns rooted in unprocessed attachment injuries, or the kind of dysregulation that does not announce itself cleanly have found that care which understands this context, rather than treating it as incidental, is often what allows the work to reach what prior treatment could not.

Indiana
Dr. Lapite-Garrett is licensed as a psychologist to provide psychotherapy and psychological care in the state of Indiana, authorized to see clients residing in or currently present within Indiana's borders. Indiana clients may access care virtually from anywhere in the state or through on-location and at-home sessions in communities throughout the region.
Indiana's metro communities are home to professionals, caregivers, and individuals who carry the full weight of lives that appear, from the outside, to be running without difficulty. The clients who seek depth-oriented psychological care here are often those for whom prior treatment never reached the organizing patterns beneath the surface: attachment disruptions laid down in childhood, trauma responses that learned to look like personality, and compulsive relational behaviors that have always served a function, even when they cause harm. That is the territory Alafiora was built to hold.

Clients Outside Licensed States
Care does not stop at a state line. Connection begins here.
For those residing in states where Dr. Lapite-Garrett is not yet authorized to provide psychological care, two paths forward are available, and neither requires waiting.
The first is immediate. Alafiora offers a curated, clinically-informed referral process for clients in unlicensed states. This is not a therapist finder search or a generic handoff. It is a considered process in which Dr. Lapite-Garrett draws on her clinical network to identify a provider whose training, temperament, and clinical orientation are genuinely matched to what a given client needs. Clients are not handed a list. They are introduced to a path.
The second is an invitation to remain in relationship with the practice. Clients who choose to join Alafiora's access list will receive a brief, discreet notification when care becomes available in their region. The communication is designed with privacy at the center. No clinical language, no identifying detail, nothing that discloses the nature of the correspondence to anyone who might have access to that inbox.
Request a referral or join the access list
Reach out directly to the practice. Including the state of residence and, if a referral is the priority, a brief note on what the work involves, allows the referral to be meaningfully matched rather than simply made. That context is held in full confidence from the first word.
There is no obligation attached to this inquiry. The conversation is offered in the same spirit as all of Alafiora's work: with care, without pressure, and at the client's pace.
All inquiries are received exclusively by Dr. Lapite-Garrett. No intake coordinator, no shared inbox, no third party. The communication is private from the first word.
For clients who cannot wait
The right provider exists. Finding them is part of the work.
Clients who reach out from states where Alafiora is not yet authorized to practice are not declined and sent elsewhere without support. What Alafiora offers instead is a bridge: a careful, clinically-grounded referral process that begins with understanding who the client is, what they have already tried, and what their care genuinely requires before any recommendation is made.
This matters because trauma-specific, sex-sensitive psychological care is not uniformly available, and not every licensed clinician is equipped to hold the clinical complexity that many of the clients who seek Alafiora carry. A referral that does not account for that complexity is not a referral. It is a delay with extra steps. Alafiora's referral process is built around clinical fit, not geographic convenience.
Clients who begin with a referral and later find that Alafiora's authorization has expanded to their state are welcomed into care without starting over. The knowledge gathered in that initial conversation does not disappear. It waits.
